“Data Therapy [ Healing Required ]” (2017) is a performative intervention into the discourse of ‘big data’ created in collaboration with the Body Recovery Unit. How does the digital hurt and please – and if possible – how do we recover?
The installation “Data Therapy [ Healing Required ]” currently on show at Art Centre Nabi (KR) – is a therapy clinic for the digital that includes audio therapy and a six-chapter long stop-motion animation film. The title, “Data Therapy” refers to the audio artwork “Root/Tangle/Relief/Well Done/That’s It” (2017), an actual audio-therapy session, but it also refers to healing processes of destroying and reclaiming misogynist and oppressive images in contemporary visual culture explored in the project.
