Suction Mechanisms

Performance | installation |  Harts Lane Studios | London 2013

In collaboration with Gareth Foote, a part of the Open System Association‘s exhibition project Everything But The Kitchen (2013).

Suction Mechanisms is an interactive installation that displaces the process of breastfeeding outside the maternal body. The performance encourages the audience to participate in the installation by having conversations using the suction machinery provided in the installation, a nipple-to-nipple communication system powered by milk. The individual conversation are captured in hanging database of milk annotated with tallied records of hand pumps used to create each entry.
